Dress codes, baby!

Firstly, let us request: please dress up with us! We would love you to lean into our dress codes and have some fun with them.

This is your chance to go a little all-out, especially as we’ll be celebrating in India, where outfits with vibrancy, texture, accessories and detail are all part of the magic.

We’ve included dress codes to make things easier when packing and planning, and to help everyone feel comfortable and confident. Feel free to embrace each theme in your own way.

Dress codes by event

All of our functions are held during late afternoon/evening, but do factor in warm, balmy (read: humid) weather when you’re choosing your outfits. Our functions are planned outdoors - girls, ensure your heels are comfortable on grass.

Madhuramveppu

Date Friday 22 January

Dress code Festive Indian maximalism. Night-time function.

We warmly invite all our guests to wear Indian attire for this traditional celebration. Have fun with it and add a touch of glamour.

See Itinerary Thursday 21 January for more information about shopping for Indian wear and accessories in Kochi. We have a shopping pit-stop scheduled in the itinerary.

Ladies: Expect to spend around $150 -$200 on your outfit and accessories if you shop in India. Women can wear any form of Indian attire in any colour including: sarees, lehengas, sharara sets, kaftans, kurta sets and more. In terms of buying in India, a saree will be the most convenient option. Any type of footwear is fine, including flats if you prefer. PS: if you are wearing a saree, we will have professional drapists on hand before the event, to tie it for you.

Men: Expect to spend $100-$150 AUD on your outfit if you shop in India. Men can wear any form of Indian attire, but kurta with mundu (South Indian skirt) and kurta with cotton or linen pants will be most comfortable especially in the heat. Sandals and loafers are common footwear to pair, and you can also easily buy these in Kochi.

Boat cruise & cocktail evening

Date Saturday 23 January

Dress code Polished casual, coastal wear

Imagine you’re going for a nice beachfront dinner in Bali.

FYI ladies, it’s no problem if you wear white.

Wedding ceremony, followed by sunset drinks

Date Sunday 24 January

Dress code Summer formals. Western attire, Indian attire optional.

Ladies: Think romantic and colourful. Bring some flair! Please don’t wear black or white.

Men: Wear a suit of your choice. Please take the warm, humid weather into consideration.

Reception

Date Sunday 24 January.

There will be a short break between the Wedding Ceremony & Sunset Drinks, and the commencement of the Reception. Given the humid climate, you’ll like the chance to go back to your room and freshen-up, fix hair/makeup, or swap into a new shirt.

During this window, you are also welcome to change into a fresh outfit for the reception - this is totally optional! The bride will be making a fabulous outfit change of her own. If you’re feeling it, go for something dazzling, something that feels a bit ‘extra’, and made for the glow of the dance floor.

Dress code remains formal. Western, or Indian wear warmly welcomed.
